President Nominates Harriet Miers as Supreme Court Justice

President George W. Bush nominated Harriet Miers earlier today as Supreme Court Justice. Read the White House press release. My guess is that not many people know that much about Harriet Miers, I certainly didn´t, well I still don`t.

Her full name is Harriet Ellan Miers and she was born August 10, 1945 and a former member of the Dallas City Council. I guess it´s too much to list here, you can read it yourself at wikipedia. Even though I don´t know much about her, I am very satisfied that she is a woman. Maybe that´s no real comfort, but I have a tendency to like women in politics and as fighters for “justice for all” (no, not the metallica album).
